Attorney General Beshear to Speak at Fancy Farm

FANCY FARM - More political speakers have been confirmed for the annual Fancy Farm Picnic in August.

According to Mark Wilson, chairman of the event's political speaking, Democratic Attorney General Andy Beshear and Republican Auditor Mike Harmon will both spend time at the podium on Saturday, August 4.

Others who have confirmed their attendance include Democratic Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes, Republican State Senator Stan Humphries, Republican Congressman James Comer and his opponent, Democrat Paul Walker. Republican State Representative Richard Heath will also be speaking, along with his opponent, Democrat Charlotte Goddard.

Invited speakers who have not yet confirmed their attendance include Republican Governor Matt Bevin, Lt. Governor Jenean Hampton and Republican Treasurer Allison Ball. Kentucky's U.S. Senators Rand Paul and Mitch McConnell have also been invited, but have not confirmed their attendance. 

Republican Commissioner of Agriculture Ryan Quarles will emcee this year's event.

The annual picnic at St. Jerome Parish is widely considered the kickoff of the statewide political season.
