Flooding Closes Ballard Wildlife Area
FRANKFORT, KY - State officials say flooding has temporarily closed the Ballard Wildlife Management Area.
Tony Black, who is wildlife regional coordinator for the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources, says there are "safety concerns" about road travel due to recent rains.
Black says staff began checking for visitors on Tuesday and would close the entrance gates after the property has been vacated.
The 8,015-acre wildlife management area is located west of Bandana in Ballard County along the Ohio River.
