Graves County Schools Transportation Department employees Denise Wooley and Vicky Franklin were honored this summer at the annual conference of the Kentucky Association of Pupil Transportation.

Wooley received KAPT's Trainer of the Year Award, sponsored by Whayne Supply. Franklin was chosen as KAPT's Bus Driver of the Year, sponsored by Central States Bus Bluebird.

Both women said they were "surprised and honored" by the awards, presented at a banquet in Bowling Green. They each received a $500 check as well.

"Both of these ladies go far above and beyond expectations," said Graves County Schools transportation director Jason Riley. "Not only do they perform the technical aspects of their jobs extremely well, but they also add the human touch to their interactions every day. We're proud of them and blessed to have them."
