To help its community, the Graves County Public Library is offering Food for Fines. Bring food donations to the library during the months of November and December. They will accept canned and boxed foods. The amount must be comparable to the amount of the overdue fine. This applies to fines only and will not apply to replacement costs of items which were lost or damaged. The food will be given to the Food Pantry in Mayfield. On Saturday, Dec. 5th at 10:30 am the Graves County Public Library will have a Christmas ornament workshop. All supplies will be provided and you will be able make your very own ornaments for Christmas. Sign up at the library if you would like to participate. Do you enjoy playing board games as a family? Graves County public library will host Family Game night on Tuesday, Dec. 8th from 5 to 7 pm. Spend some time as a family playing games such as Uno, Monopoly, Blink, Apples to Apples Jr., and Clue. They will also have a Wii set up to play console games. On Saturday, Dec. 12th at 2 pm the Graves County Public Library will have its Christmas past program. It will host David Wolfe who is a professional Lincoln impersonator. He and his family will represent and talk about a classic Christmas during the 1800’s. Refreshments will be served. Everyone is welcome so you won’t want to miss it. The Graves County Public Library will host family movie night on Tuesday, Dec.15th at 5 pm. Join them for a double feature Christmas event about Santa and his favorite reindeer. In honor of the new movie that is sure to leave you star struck the Graves County Public library will have crafts for both young and old padawan’s. The Graves county public library has two new online services which are available on our website. The First is Zinio which is a new way to check out popular magazines on a computer or tablet. They also provide Hoopla. This is another way to check out all sorts of new online material such as comics, music, and TV shows. All of these are free with a library Card. The library also has extended its hours, now open from 9 am to 8 pm every Thursday and Friday.
