Programs for November at the Graves County Public Library and other events for November are listed below. The movie in November will be Hotel Transylvania 3.  

In conjunction with the Mayfield Animal Shelter, the Graves County Public Library will host a special program called Paws to Read. It will be every first Thursday of each month starting at 4 pm. Children can read aloud to a therapy dog or cat for 15 minutes. Patient, nonjudgmental pets help reluctant readers gain confidence and comfort with reading. Parents will need to fill out and sign a waiver before their child can participate. This program is open to children in grades K-6.  If you have questions, call the library at 270-247-2911.
 
The library has two special programs throughout the school year. Its Lego Program will be the first Monday of each month at 5 pm and daughter date night will be the first Tuesday of each month at 5 pm. During Lego night, children come and create anything out of their imagination and during daughter date night dads come with their daughters and make crafts to take home together. On Thursday, Nov. 1 at 5 pm, the library will host a book discussion on the #1 New York Times bestseller Braving the Wilderness by Brené Brown. Tyra Henderson, Associate Professor of English from West Kentucky Community and Technical College, will lead the discussion. If you have questions, contact the library at 270-247-2911.
 
The library will have a hand lettering class on Friday, Nov. 2 at 6 pm. Mary Kate Imhoff will teach a class on how to make creative designs step by step. You must be signed up to attend this beginner’s class. Come by the library or call to get signed up. On Thursday, Nov. 8, the Graves County Public Library will host Kentucky Chautauqua with speaker Edward Smith as Adolph Rupp. The presentation starts at 5:30 pm. Kentucky Chautauqua is an exclusive presentation of the Kentucky Humanities Council and they bring historical characters to life with professional actors. You will delight in seeing coach Adolph Rupp once more through Edward Smith. If you have questions, contact the library at 270-247-2911.
 
Come by the Graves County Public library on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 10:30 am for a Christmas card workshop. You will be able to create beautiful cards to give away to loved ones for Christmas. All supplies will be provided. If you have questions, call 270-247-2911.
 
Jason Lindsey will be at the Graves county public library on Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 5 pm for a special Hooked on Science program. Students explore a galaxy far, far away as they create cloud city, engineer Han Solo's sound blaster and more star wars science. If you have questions, contact the library at 270-247-2911.

The library’s teen advisory board will have its anime night on Friday, Nov. 16 from 4-7 pm. Guests will watch anime, play games and have pizza. Prizes will be given out and if all are welcome to come dressed as their favorite character. If you have any additional questions call the library at 270-247-2911.
 
The Graves County Public Library will host family movie night on Tuesday November 20 at 5pm.   Join us as we watch Count Dracula and company participate in a cruise for sea-loving monsters, unaware that their boat is being commandeered by the monster-hating Van Helsing family.  Free Drinks and popcorn will be served.  Children under the age of 10 should be with an adult.  If you have any questions please call us at 270-247-2911.
 
The library will host Bingo night on Monday, Nov. 29 at 5 pm. All supplies will be provided and it is free for all ages. Prizes will be available for winners. They will play for a couple of hours. If you have questions, call the library at 270-247-2911.
