Graves County Foot Pursuit Ends with Two Arrests

MAYFIELD, KY - Two men have been arrested after an early morning foot pursuit in Graves County.
According to Sheriff Dewayne Redmon, deputies observed two men sitting in a parked vehicle off of North 8
th Street near North Street Tuesday morning. When deputies approached the vehicle they could smell burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle. While questioning the men, deputies saw a pair of brass knuckles partially exposed in the driver’s side door’s side pocket.
One of the men, 24-year-old Joseph Brown, of Pryorsburg, kept giving deputies false identification information. When asked to exit the vehicle, Brown fled on foot. He was eventually located by Mayfield police hiding in a tree several blocks away.
Brown was served with a parole violation warrant. He was also charged with fleeing and evading police, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and giving a police officer a false name.
The second man, 23-year-old Nathan Leath, of Fulton, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon. Both were lodged in the Graves County Jail.
