Two men have been arrested after an early morning foot pursuit in Graves County.

According to Sheriff Dewayne Redmon, deputies observed two men sitting in a parked vehicle off of North 8th Street near North Street Tuesday morning. When deputies approached the vehicle they could smell burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle. While questioning the men, deputies saw a pair of brass knuckles partially exposed in the driver’s side door’s side pocket.

One of the men, 24-year-old Joseph Brown, of Pryorsburg, kept giving deputies false identification information. When asked to exit the vehicle, Brown fled on foot. He was eventually located by Mayfield police hiding in a tree several blocks away.

Brown was served with a parole violation warrant. He was also charged with fleeing and evading police, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and giving a police officer a false name.

The second man, 23-year-old Nathan Leath, of Fulton, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon. Both were lodged in the Graves County Jail.
