A Graves County man was arrested Wednesday morning after he attempted to flee from police.

Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon said 35-year-old Russell Davis, of Mayfield, attempted to flee on foot from two deputies that were attempting to arrest him on an outstanding warrant while at the Graves County Courthouse. Redmon said Davis ran across the parking lot of CVS, jumped the fence and ran behind another business onto South Street.

He continued onto South 5th Street running between the buildings of the old Merit Clothing Company. Davis was eventually detained without incident and was lodged in the Graves County Jail. He’s charged with fleeing and evading police first degree.
