Graves County Man Faces Drug, Gun Charges

Graves County authorities arrested a man on drug and gun charges Tuesday.

According to Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon, deputies responded to a home in the 2000 block of State Route 129 Tuesday after receiving information of illegal drug activity at the home.

During a search of the home, deputies found 28-year-old Roger Shane Papierski. Deputies said Papierski tried to leave the home in a vehicle, but during questioning the department's K-9 was used and it indicated illegal narcotics inside the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, deputies found a stolen handgun, methamphetamine and marijuana.

A search warrant was obtained for the property and more methamphetamine and marijuana were reportedly found, along with another stolen handgun, several sets of digital scales, baggies and numerous other items that are believed to be stolen.

Papierski was booked into the Graves County Jail and charged with trafficking methamphetamine - firearm enhanced, trafficking marijuana - firearm enhanced, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, receiving stolen property, possession of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying a concealed deadly weapon.

Deputies said the investigation is continuing and more charges are likely.
