Drug Enforcement Special Investigations Unit Sergeant Dean Patterson says Kentucky State Police are conducting an investigation on Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon. Patterson said KSP received a tip in early July and conducted an investigation.
Patterson wouldn't comment on the investigation, other than to say it's drug related.
Patterson says the findings from that investigation will be presented to a grand jury later this month. He said no
charges have been filed against Redmon at this time.
Bryan E. Wilson, attorney for Redmon commented, "Over the past several months Sheriff Dewayne Redmon has battled a variety of health issues for which he has sought treatment. Recently Sheriff Redmon was made aware of an ongoing investigation into his alleged conduct. Due to these factors he has taken time out of the office to concentrate on his health. He remains in close contact with his staff and he will continue to perform his duties as Sheriff of Graves County. Sheriff Redmon and his family would very much appreciate your thoughts, prayers and understanding during this time."
