A Graves County man was arrested Saturday night on multiple charges after a short high-speed motorcycle pursuit by police.

According to the Graves County Sheriff's office, a deputy observed a motorcycle operated by 50-year-old Timothy Shook of Boaz traveling southbound at a high rate of speed on KY 1241. The deputy attempted to stop the motorcycle but Shook accelerated to speeds near 100mph. The deputy lost sight of the motorcycle at the intersection of Hopewell Road and State Route 849.

A few moments later dispatchers received a 911 call and the caller said the motorcycle had been ditched near Mt. Pisgah Church. When the deputy arrived at the scene, he found Shook still on the motorcycle, approximately 75 feet off the roadway laid down on its side. According to the deputy, Shook had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and was unsteady on his feet.

Shook was charged with speeding, reckless driving, fleeing or evading police and DUI. Shook refused medical treatment at the scene, and  was lodged in the Graves County Jail.
