A Mayfield man was arrested Monday morning on DUI and drug-related charges. According to the Graves County Sheriff's Office, the arrest came after deputies stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on 3rd Street in Mayfield.

Deputies said when they approached the vehicle, they detected a strong odor of marijuana. The driver of the vehicle, 23-year-old Brian Gordon of North 13th Street, also told deputies he did not have an operator's license. A computer check revealed his license had been suspended.

Gordon allegedly failed several field sobriety tests and was arrested. Deputies later found a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana in Gordon's shoe.

Gordon was charged with DUI-2nd offense, operating on a suspended license, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and several traffic offenses. He was lodged in the Graves County Jail.
