Hardin Woman Charged with 17 Counts of Check Fraud

BENTON, KY - A Marshall County woman has been arrested on a multitude of charges including check fraud. The Marshall County’s Sheriff’s Office received a complaint on Friday of a woman who was attempting to pass some checks at CFSB Bank in Benton. The woman, 35-year-old Stacy Clark of Hardin, was declined by bank staff and she left the premises.
Deputies located Clark’s vehicle and conducted a traffic stop to further investigate the complaint. Deputies found checks not belonging to Clark in the vehicle. When asked about the checks Clark became very enraged and began cussing. According to deputies, Clark appeared to be under the influence.
Clark was arrested and charged with public intoxication-controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, disorderly conduct second degree and 17 counts of possession of a forged instrument second degree. She was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.
