A Friday evening crash in Calloway County left a Hazel man severely injured.

At around 8:00 pm Friday, the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office responded to a crash with injuries on Killdeer Trail in Eastern Calloway County.

According to police, responders arrived on the scene to find an injured man lying in a ditch. Police said 28-year-old Heather Johnson, of Hazel was driving when her vehicle dropped off the shoulder of the roadway. Johnson then over-corrected and slid into the opposite ditch, slid into a tree and spun around.

Police said a passenger in the vehicle, 35-year-old Kelly Jones, of Hazel was ejected. Another passenger, a 22-month-old boy, was restrained in a child safety seat. Johnson and the boy were uninjured.

Jones was taken to the Murray Calloway County Hospital Emergency Room, and was later air lifted to another hospital due to the severity of his injuries.
