According to the Murray Police Department, officers responded to the Fox Meadows subdivision around 5:45 p.m. where officers found 29-year-old Jared Tabers of Murray lying in the roadway with visible serious injuries.
Witnesses identified 61-year-old Leonard Martin of Hazel as the driver of the vehicle that struck Tabers. After investigating the accident scene, Martin was taken into custody and charged with first degree assault.
Tabers was transported to Murray-Calloway County Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
