New high-tech jobs will soon be coming to downtown Murray.

Black Pearl Properties, developer and manager of the historic Swann Warehouse redevelopment, announced an agreement that will bring the agriculture technology company Ag Connections to their historic downtown Murray location.

Ag Connections, a wholly owned subsidiary of Syngenta AG, is a Calloway County-based software development company. Their arrival will bring dozens of new high-tech jobs to the downtown Murray area and will serve as a cornerstone tenant for the mixed-use redevelopment of Swann Warehouse, a Murray landmark.

Swann Warehouse is a former tobacco prizing warehouse listed on the National Register of Historic Places. As part of their redevelopment program, Black Pearl Properties is working with Pinnacle Construction of Benton to adhere to United States Department of Interior Standards for Historic Redevelopment, to create modern commercial space as well as lofted penthouse apartments.

The warehouse has been under renovation since 2016 and work will be completed in 2018.

"We are very pleased to have AgConnections joining Black Pearl Properties as cornerstone tenants in Swann Warehouse." Joe Darnall, project manager for Black Pearl Properties said. "It is a testament to their love of this community, its people and history that they were adamant in their desire to come to the historic Murray downtown. "
