Hopkinsville Library Gets $200K Donation
By AP
HOPKINSVILLE, KY - An anonymous donor has given $200,000 to enable a western Kentucky public library provide free books to children every month.

The Kentucky New Era reported Friday the donation will help establish a Dolly Parton Imagination Library project through the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library.

The program provides a free book every month for children from birth to age 5.

Library board member Diane Wood says the panel is overwhelmed by the gift.

Kathy Jacobi of the Community Foundation of Louisville, which will coordinate the donation, says the donor is someone with "lifelong interests" in Christian County.

The money will fully fund the project for two years and partially fund it for the third year.
