Hopkinsville Man Charged with Murder

CADIZ - A Hopkinsville man was arrested Monday morning in Cadiz, and charged with murder.

According to Kentucky State Police, 43-year-old James W. Gentry was arrested for his alleged role in the death of 35-year-old Keith "Joey" Hayes, also of Hopkinsville.

KSP had received a call from the Trigg County Dispatch about a deceased person off Buffalo Road on Wednesday, November 28th. Their preliminary investigation revealed foul play, and an autopsy showed that Hayes died from multiple gunshot wounds.

Gentry had previously been arrested on Friday, November 30th, for receiving stolen property and tampering with physical evidence, in relation to the murder investigation. He was lodged in the Christian County Jail.
