Hottest Summer Weather So Far On Tap This Week
By National Weather Service
PADUCAH, KY - The National Weather Service in Paducah says that the longest stretch of hot, humid weather this summer so far is expected this week.

From Tuesday through the weekend, daily heat indices will reach or exceed 100, and may approach 105 at times.

A heat index over 105 constitutes a dangerous situation, and would prompt official warnings and instructions to take precautions outdoors at work, and for the elderly, children, pets and livestock.

A bubble of even hotter air has stayed to our north for the past few weeks, and temperatures there will also ratchet up this week. Meteorologists in St. Louis have already issued an Excessive Heat Warning for that area from Tuesday through Saturday, in anticipation of dangerous heat indices between 105 and 113.
