I-24 Christian Co. Welcome Center Reopens Today
By Keith Todd, KY Transportation Cabinet (KYTC)
CHRISTIAN COUNTY, KY - The Interstate 24 westbound Kentucky Welcome Center in Christian County reopens on Saturday, June 22.
Rehabilitation work near the welcome center entrance and exit ramps at the Kentucky-Tennessee State Line has progressed to a point where the facility can resume normal operating hours, at least temporarily.
All services will be available until a final round of asphalt paving starts in the work zone near the welcome center entrance.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will provide timely notice of any future service disruptions required by the ongoing reconstruction between the 86 and 93 mile marker.
As a reminder, an extended work zone remains in place along Interstate 24 from the Kentucky-Tennessee State Line to the US 41-Alternate Exit 86 Interchange. This work zone includes one lane traffic with a strictly enforced 55 mile per hour speed limit, an enhanced police presence, and double fines for citations issued in the work zone. Caution is required.
