I-24 Detour in Trigg, Caldwell Planned
By West Kentucky Star Staff
WESTERN KENTUCKY - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is planning a temporary detour for westbound traffic along I-24 within an extended work zone between the 65 and 52 mile marker Wednesday evening.

The detour will begin at approximately 6 p.m. at the U.S. 68 Cadiz exit 65 interchange and will be in place until 1 a.m. on Thursday.

The detour will allow for extensive pavement patching and shoulder repairs along the work zone.

During the closure there will be a marked detour along U.S. 68 West to KY 139 North through downtown Cadiz to return to I-24 at the Cadiz-Princeton Exit 56 interchange. Motorists traveling from U.S. 68 near the Exit 65 interchange should be prepared to encounter delays.

The Transportation Cabinet is recommending westbound traffic continue westbound on U.S. 68 to the I-69 exit 47 Draffenville interchange to follow I-69 North to return to I-24 at the exit 25 interchange near Calvert City.

Any oversize loads will be directed to pull over and wait for the work to be completed.
