I-24 East Closed Tonight for Work on Bridge
By West Kentucky Star Staff
CALVERT CITY - A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to close the eastbound lanes of Interstate 24 near the Tennessee River Bridge from 6:00 pm Wednesday evening until 6:00 am Thursday.

The eastbound lanes will be closed and detoured to allow a concrete pour for installation of new joints on the bridge at the 30 mile marker at the Livingston-Marshall County line.

Eastbound traffic will detour between US 62 Calvert City Exit 27 and KY 453 Grand Rivers Exit 31. There should be no impact on westbound traffic.

This is the 4th of about 8 overnight closures that are required to finish installation of new joints on the Tennessee River Bridge. Another overnight closure is expected in about a week to 10 days, weather permitting.

American Contracting & Services of Jeffersonville, IN, is the prime contractor on this $1.1 million bridge joint replacement project.
