Indiana Man Faces Theft Charges in Graves County

GRAVES COUNTY, KY - An Indiana man faces theft charges after deceiving a Graves County Business back in January.

According to the Kentucky State Police, they received a complaint in January from ACE Compressor Parts and Service in Graves County. Their investigation revealed that 27-year-old Fred Davis of Greenwood, Indiana, operating a company doing business as Georgia Metals and Machinery, allegedly received $20,000 in exchange for the purchase of air compressors.

Davis received the money, but failed to deliver the products as agreed upon.

A search warrant was obtained through Graves District Court for the bank records of Davis, which revealed that the offender in fact received the $20,000, and withdrew the same amount of money from the account in question without delivering the air compressors to the Graves County vendor victim.

On March 21, the accused offender, Fred Davis, was arrested on Kentucky warrant for Theft by Deception-Over $10,000, in Montgomery County, Tennessee.

On Wednesday, the Graves County Sheriff’s Department extradited Davis back to Kentucky where he remains in the Graves County Jail.  The investigation is ongoing.
