Kentucky State Police say they received a call from the Graves County Jail just before noon Saturday, saying they had an unresponsive inmate. Mayfield EMS came to the scene and took 51-year-old Anthony R. Swatzell to Jackson Purchase Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead by the Graves County Coroner.
Troopers say Swatzell's cell was under video surveillance at the time of his death, and initial indications are that he died of natural causes, with no foul play suspected.
State Police say an autopsy was performed Sunday in Louisville, and they are waiting for results.
