FRANKFORT, KY - Contracts for several highway intersection repair projects around the state have been awarded, totaling nearly $2.5 million.
 
Locally, projects awarded include US 62 at the Hucks truck stop in Lyon County, at a cost of $559,291; and U.S. 51 with U.S. 60 and North Third Street in Ballard County, $404,092.  Other projects greenlighted are in Pulaski, Franklin, Nelson and Grayson counties.

Transportation Secretary Mike Hancock says the intersections selected are those most in need of repair. He added that more than $6 million in such projects has been awarded to contract during 2012, and more is expected next year.
