Jones Out of Business Leadership Role in Murray
By WestKyStar Staff
MURRAY, KY - Businessman Chuck Jones, named Murray's Citizen of the Year in 2011, sent an email to employees on Thursday informing them that he will no longer be a part of day-to-day operations of the companies that he co-owns there.
Jones and his wife were sued earlier this year by his Nashville, Tennessee business partner David Griffin. This week, he was sued by Planters Bank in Hopkinsville for more than $11 million for breach of loan agreements.
Jones says he will retain his ownership in the companies, but Myles MacDonald of Nashville-based Kraft CPA will be brought in to assist with company operations. Now that MacDonald has been brought in, as part of an agreement with Griffin, the lawsuit against Jones will be dropped.
The businesses include South Eastern Book Company, Book and Bean, College Book Renter, Black Rock Investments, and Integrated Computer Solutions.
