Jury Finds Ross Guilty of Murder, Arson

MAYFIELD, KY - A Graves County jury on Wednesday found Cole Douglas Ross guilty of murder and arson in the 2009 fire that claimed the life of Keith Colston. The jury of seven men and five women recommended concurrent life sentences on the charges.
Judge Tim Stark set Ross’ sentencing for 9 am Oct 23.
Ross’ first trial two years ago ended in a hung jury. Police said Ross killed Colston when he set fire to Colston’s trailer near the Graves-McCracken County line on Oct. 13, 2009. He was arrested almost a year after the fire.
