Maintenance crews found that recent flash flooding had created several large voids under the Cookes Creek culvert. The undermining of the culvert created concern about the potential for more damage due to heavy rainfall expected through Friday night.
The road at the culvert has been closed to traffic for 3 to 4 weeks while engineers take time to develop a plan for the more extensive repairs that will be required.
