WINGO, KY - One person was killed Thursday night when a truck and motorcycle collided in Graves County. According to the Graves County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened around 6:20 pm Thursday on US 45 South in Wingo.

According to police, 45-year-old Jesse Bates, of Graves County, was traveling south on US 45 in a pickup truck pulling a utility trailer. One of the trailer tires blew out causing the trailer to begin fish tailing.

Bates lost control of his truck and crossed over into the northbound lane, striking a motorcycle operated by 59-year-old Johnny Moss, of Hutchinson, KS. Both vehicles landed on the east side of the roadway down an embankment. Moss was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

Mayfield-Graves County EMS and Wingo Fire Department First Responders responded to the scene and transported Moss to Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield where he was pronounced dead by Graves County Coroner Phillip McClain.
