A southern Kentucky community is expanding a festival marking the legend of an alien encounter with visitors from outer space.

The Kelly Community Organization pushed the "Little Green Men" Festival Days to two days this year. The celebration starts Friday in the town of Kelly, about 10 miles north of Hopkinsville.

According to the Kentucky New Era, local legend holds that a flying saucer and alien beings visited the tiny Christian County community of Kelly on Aug. 21, 1955.

Kelly Community Organization President Frank Brown says the festivities include a documentary titled "Monsters of the UFO: The Incident At Kelly."

Advertisements for the festival do not promise alien encounters during the festivities.
