The Kentucky State Fair Grand Champion Country Ham is headed to Lexington.

The ham, produced by Broadbent Foods in Kuttawa, weighs in at just over 17 pounds and was sold at auction for $600,000 during the Kentucky Farm Bureau's 53rd annual breakfast and auction.

The winning bid is from Central Bank in Lexington. Last year's winning bid was $400,000.  The all-time record bid is two million dollars, set in 2014.

Money from the winning bid will be given to charities of the winner's choosing.  This year's recipients include Sunrise Children's Services, God's Pantry Food Bank, Kentucky Community and Technical College,  University of Kentucky Hospital, Gatton College of Business at UK, and UK athletics.

Over the years, the auction has generated nearly $10 million for charity, according to Kentucky Farm Bureau President Mark Haney.
