Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area offers teachers free general admission to The Homeplace, Golden Pond Planetarium, and Woodlands Nature Station on Saturday, Sept. 20 and Sunday, Sept. 21.

Current and retired teachers, home educators, and their immediate families qualify for free entry. Bring a letter printed on your school letterhead, a school faculty ID card, or your home educator identification to present at each site.

“We want to support area educators for all that they do for their students,” says Sharon Waltrip, Environmental Education Program Manager. “We invite teachers to come out to our day facilities to enjoy them with their families, see what we have to offer, and pick up an educator resource packet. We have environmental education programs that encourage critical thinking and hands-on learning about nature, history, and space.”

Land Between The Lakes offers outdoor recreation, lake access, land management, and environmental education to over 1.4 million visitors annually. The Friends of Land Between The Lakes work in partnership with the Forest Service providing program services, funds development, and volunteer support.
