Livingston County Couple Arrested for Child Abuse

SALEM, KY - A Livingston County woman and man have been arrested and charged with child abuse.
According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, deputies arrested 35-year-old Doris Annette Ivy of Salem on Friday and charged her with two counts of Criminal Abuse 2nd Degree Child under 12-years-old.
The children alleged they had been beaten with a belt. The Cabinet for Families and Children assisted deputies with the investigation and documented the injuries at the Livingston County Hospital where the children were treated and released to other family members.
Deputies continued the investigation and eventually charged 33-year-old Jonathan McCoy of Salem with two counts of Criminal Abuse 2nd Degree Child Under 12-years-old as well. Deputies also charged Jonathon's brother, 30-year-old Joseph McCoy of Cadiz for one count Hindering Apprehension for his role in helping Jonathan McCoy elude officers for several hours.
