Livingston Couple Charged After Shooting

LIVINGSTON COUNTY, KY - Two people face charges after a shooting in Livingston County Friday night.

Kentucky State Police received a complaint of shots fired Friday at approximately 9:30 pm. Upon arrival, troopers determined that Leon Cunningham was intoxicated and outside his home firing a weapon. Police said several rounds were fired after a verbal altercation with his wife Theresa Cunningham.  

Police said Leon Cunningham reentered the home and got into a physical altercation with his wife. The couple struggled over the gun causing the firearm to discharge.

Theresa Cunningham was struck in the calf of her leg and was transported to Baptist Health Paducah for her injuries. A juvenile at the home was also transported  to Baptist Health Paducah for alcohol poisoning.

Police charged Leon Cunningham with assault 1st degree domestic violence and three counts of wanton endangerment. Theresa Cunningham was charged with wanton endangerment 1st degree.
