Marshall County Hospital officials say the facility has been impacted by a "data security event", but say no patient information has been compromised.

In a statement released Wednesday, Marshall County Hospital CEO David Fuqua said cybersecurity professionals have begun an investigation, and no patient, employee or financial information has been put at risk.

Fuqua said the event has not impacted patient care or any other service provided by the hospital.

"Marshall County Hospital takes the privacy and security of all information entrusted to it very seriously. The care of our patients, as well as the privacy and security of their information is of utmost importance to Marshall County Hospital, and we will continue to take significant measures to protect that information." Fuqua said.
