BENTON, IL - A West Frankfort man is accused of threatening to kill police and blow up their southern Illinois police station with homemade explosives.
A federal grand jury has indicted 33-year-old Matthew Galli on three counts of possessing an unregistered destructive device.
West Frankfort police arrested Galli on Aug. 9 after he allegedly threatened police officers. At the time, authorities say he was in possession of homemade explosive devices, firearms and ammunition.
Investigators say a search of his home turned up items associated with making explosive devices, as well as firearms including assault-style rifles.
Galli couldn't be reached for comment Wednesday.
His arraignment is scheduled for next Tuesday.
