A Marshall County man was arrested Wednesday after emergency personnel responded to a possible overdose.

Marshall County Sheriff's Department went to a home in Benton after getting the call and learning that the man was unconscious. When they arrived, 34-year-old Justin P. Edwards was conscious and appeared to be under the influence. He refused to be taken to a hospital by EMS, and it was learned there was a warrant for his arrest for a probation violation in Florida.

After getting consent to search the property, multiple controlled substances were found along with drug paraphernalia. A shotgun shell was in Edwards' pocket, and a loaded shotgun was found in a shed.

Edwards was arrested on multiple charges of possession of a controlled substance, and for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, posession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a legend drug. He was taken to Marshall County Detention Center.
