A Graves County man has been arrested and three juveniles charged in connection to two burglaries in Mayfield Wednesday.

According to the Graves County Sheriff's office, deputies received a call of a burglary at the Dollar General Store on US 45 North early Wednesday morning. When officers arrived at the store, they found the door open in the rear of the building.

During the investigation, another burglary was reported on Local Drive, approximately 500 yards from Dollar General. Detectives interviewed the victim, which led them to Graves County High School, where several students were interviewed. One juvenile was detained for questioning.

The investigation led police to a home on East North Street. A search warrant was conducted at the home where detectives found a defaced semi automatic handgun, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Police arrested 35-year-old Cary West of Mayfield on charges of possession of methamphetamine-firearm enhanced, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a defaced firearm. He was lodged in the Graves County Jail.

Police located two other juveniles in Mayfield, and they both reportedly confessed to the burglaries at the Dollar General Store and the home on Local Drive. All three juveniles are charged with burglary, tampering with physical evidence, theft by unlawful taking under $500 and criminal mischief.
