The Livingston County Sheriff's Department took a Salem man into custody Thursday following a month-long investigation into a Livingston County theft.

Authorities say 33-year-old Jonathan McCoy is charged with one count of theft over $500 and one count of first-degree criminal mischief regarding the theft of fixtures and wiring from a mobile home on US 60, and damage done to the home during the alleged crime.

The investigation eventually led officers to a storage building in Marion, Ky, where most of the items were recovered.

McCoy was then charged, and remains in the McCracken County Jail, where he was already being held on first-degree criminal abuse charges. Those stem from an August incident in which he allegedly physically abused his girlfriend's two minor children.

The children's mother, Doris Ivy, was also charged in the criminal abuse incident and is currently free on bond.
