MAYFIELD - A man faces domestic assault and other charges after an incident Wednesday involving a baseball bat.

The Mayfield Police Department says officers responded to a report of a fight in progress on South 17th Street.

Officers said they arrived to find 34-year-old Brian Boykin armed with a baseball bat and acting disorderly, yelling, and cursing loudly.

Boykin ran inside, and came back outside as officers approached the home. They restrained Boykin and placed him under arrest. Officers later learned Boykin had shoved his girlfriend and swung the bat at her.

Boykin is charged with second-degree disorderly conduct, menacing, resisting arrest, and fourth-degree assault. He was booked into Graves County Jail.
