HICKMAN COUNTY - A Hickman County man has been arrested and charged with stealing several thousand dollars worth of items from his former employer.

The Graves County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded on Oct. 6 to a call from the Mayfield Consumer Products candle manufacturing plant about suspected theft that had been occurring at the facility.

Graves and Hickman County deputies went to a home on Cooley Road in Hickman County on Oct. 8, where they found 46-year-old Christopher Meyers.

Deputies said they recovered $16,000 worth of stolen property belonging to the company. Items stolen included product, tools, and other equipment. They also seized methamphetamine during the search.

Meyers was charged with trafficking methamphetamine and theft by unlawful taking over $10,000.
