Last week Deputy Richard Edwards was called to the scene of a theft in the Tri-City area. A racing style go-kart had been stolen from a home on KY 97. After the report was taken, the sheriff’s office received information that Tyler Ellegood was trying to sell a go-kart that matched the description of the one that was missing.
Ellegood was supposed to be staying at a home on KY 303. When deputies arrived at that address Ellegood was not there but the go-kart was located in the back yard. Deputies learned that Ellegood had just dropped the go-kart off at the home.
The victim was called to that location and identified the go-kart. Ellegood was later located on a traffic stop on Waldrop Drive. He was arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking over $500. He was lodged in the Graves County Jail.
