According to the Calloway County Sheriff's Office, the wreck happened around 7:30 am between Hwy 121 and Hwy 80 on Airport Road. Deputies said Eric J. Duffy was driving north on Airport Road when he fell asleep, ran off the road and struck a driveway culvert. Police said his vehicle then rotated into the southbound lane of traffic and collided with a southbound vehicle driven by Carolyn Morris.
Morris was pronounced dead at the scene.
Duffy was arrested for driving under the influence and taken to the Calloway County Detention Center.
