Man on Mowing Crew Hurt when Tractor Runs Over Him
By WestKyStar Staff
PEMBROKE, KY - A commercial mowing company employee has been transferred to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville after being run over by a tractor on the right-of-way along US Highway 41 in Christian County late Wednesday.

The 40-year-old was part of a contract mowing crew working for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet along US 41 near Pembroke. Transportation officials say details are sketchy, but employees of Double-G Mowing, a Tennessee based company, indicated the man either tripped or fell beneath a tractor as it drove past the area where he was talking to another employee.

The injured worker was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville, then transferred to Nashville.

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet safety personnel plan to gather additional information on the incident on Thursday.  The incident was initially reported to the Christian County Sheriff's Department.
