A month after two students were killed and eighteen were injured in a shooting at the high school, six Marshall County students have been charged with making threats on social media this week.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Department says on Thursday they were made aware of six different threats or comments made online by students. A deputy and a school resource officer began investigating, leading to charges of 2nd degree terroristic threatening for each student. They were taken to the juvenile detention center.

In a Facebook post Friday, the Sheriff's Department said "We have no reason to believe that any of these threats constitute a current danger to any of our schools as those making the threats or comments were placed in detention. All of our area law enforcement agencies takes these threats seriously and will continue to investigate and take action when appropriate."

Fifteen-year-old suspect Gabriel Parker faces 2 counts of murder and 14 counts of assault after the shooting, which took place on January 23. He has been charged for the crimes as an adult.
