CALVERT CITY, KY - A Marshall County man was killed Thursday morning when he was struck by a car while walking. According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, the incident happened around 6:20 am on Griggstown Road.

Deputies said 26-year-old Kyle Clark of Calvert City was traveling southbound on Griggstown Rd. when he came upon 61-year-old Archie T. Griggs of Calvert City, who was walking in the travel portion of the southbound lane. Clark came around the curve at Salyer Creek Road intersection and didn’t see Griggs walking in the roadway.

Clark’s vehicle struck Griggs. Griggs was pronounced dead at the scene by the Marshall County Coroner.
