By WestKyStar Staff
BENTON, KY - A Marshall County man was arrested Tuesday for stealing a vehicle.

Marshall County Sheriff's Department got a call about a stolen vehicle about 3:00 pm, and started investigating. While officers were discussing the vehicle's description and possible location, a detective realized he was behind it on Highway 68. A deputy joined him and attempted to pull the vehicle over, but the driver would not stop.

A short pursuit near the high school ended at the soccer fields, where the driver abandoned the vehicle and ran. Another deputy found the man in a nearby creek, and he was identified as 35-year-old Michael O. Glover of Benton. He had a suspended license from a prior DUI, and had allegedly caused some damage to the vehicle, which he admitted taking.

Glover was arrested for theft by unlawful taking - automobile, fleeing or evading police, criminal mischief 2nd degree, and driving with a suspended license. He was taken to Marshall County Detention Center.
