Marshall County Rape Suspect Pleads Not Guilty
By West Kentucky Star Staff
BENTON - A Benton man arrested in August on rape and incest charges has pleaded not guilty.

Thirty-two-year-old Joseph Christian Hunt entered the plea during his arraignment Tuesday afternoon in Marshall Circuit Court. Hunt requested a bond reduction from $100,000 cash to $50,000 cash bond.

The Commonwealth is opposed to any bond reduction. The case is set for a status hearing on Dec. 8.

Hunt was arrested by the Marshall County Sheriff's Office after deputies responded to a complaint involving allegations of sexual abuse of a juvenile. He was charged with first-degree rape, first-degree sexual abuse of a victim less then 12 years old, first-degree sodomy of a victim less then 12 years old, and incest.
