Marshall County Woman Charged in Sunday Break-in

BENTON, KY - A Marshall County woman faces burglary and drug charges after her arrest Sunday.

Marshall County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a home on Vanzora Road in reference to a burglary. The victim reported that half a Lortab was missing from her home, along with some bibbed overalls and other items.

On their way to the home, deputies saw a woman, later identified as 34-year-old Autumn Lane of Benton, walking down the road. According to deputies, Lane had a black ink-like substance on her hands.

Upon arriving at the burglarized home it was found that a black ink-like substance had been spilt inside the home and tracked throughout the house. Deputies then went to Lane’s home which was located just a few houses down. Lane admitted being inside the victim’s home.

Deputies then went to the wooded area surrounding the victim’s home and found clothing also bearing the black ink-like stains. A search of Lane’s home was conducted where the bibbed overalls were found in the washing machine. Shoes with black ink-like stains on them, a quantity of marijuana and smoking pipes were also found in the home.

Lane was arrested and charged with burglary 2nd degree, criminal mischief 1st degree, theft of controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Another resident of the home, 35-year-old Steven Lane of Benton, was cited for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
