Police are seeking information about a weekend theft of seven ATV's from the Polaris dealership in Benton.
According to the Marshall County Sheriff's Office, sometime between 4:30 pm Saturday and 12:00 pm Sunday someone cut the fencing behind the Polaris dealership in Benton and entered the storage area. There were eleven ATV’s that were taken from the dealership and driven behind Chambers Excavating, where the suspect(s) then stole an enclosed utility trailer belonging to the Marshall County A & I Fair Board.
Police said the suspects were able to load seven of the ATV’s and flee the scene, but left the other four parked behind Chambers Excavating. The stolen utility trailer was recovered by Illinois State Police in Vernon Hills, IL. The ATV’s that are still missing are as follows:
1) 2015 Polaris Sportsman 1000 black in color
2) 2015 Polaris Sportsman 1000 camouflage in color
3) 2015 Polaris Scrambler 1000 white in color
4) 2015 Polaris Scrambler 1000 white in color
5) 2015 Razor 1000 blue in color
6) 2015 Razor 570 white in color
7) 2015 Razor 900s black in color
Polaris of Benton is offering a $5000.00 reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest.
