Mayfield Drug Bust Nets Cocaine, Meds
By WestKyStar Staff
MAYFIELD, KY - A month-long investigation conducted by Kentucky State Police has resulted in an arrest, and the seizure of nearly 11-pounds of marijuana, cocaine and other illegal substances.

The investigation began in February after a tip suggested that drug trafficking was taking place near a large church and playground in Mayfield.

A search warrant was issued for a home on North 12th street, and detectives say they uncovered nearly 11-pounds of processed marijuana, a quantity of cocaine and an array of controlled substances. Troopers also seized cash and additional evidence that they say related to the sale of narcotics.

Officers arrested 31-year-old Jim Bob Pierce IV. He faces multiple drug chages and is in the Graves County Jail. Troopers say additional charges are likely.
